Art
The aim of art at Hinckley Parks is to offer children the opportunity to meet the three threshold concepts in
art and design, these are:
• To develop ideas – understanding how ideas develop through an artistic process
• To master techniques – developing procedural knowledge so that ideas may be communicated
• To take inspiration from the greats – learning from both the artistic process and techniques of great
artists and artisans throughout history.
Children will be given the opportunity to work with a wide variety of media and they will have opportunity
to create final pieces and evaluate their own work and the work of others.
